The U.S. and Japan, both members of the International Partnership for a Hydrogen Economy and deeply involved in the development of hydrogen fuel cells, have agreed to work jointly on pre-competitive research and development that will bring fuel cell and hydrogen technologies to market. The aim is to leverage the individual efforts of each country to decrease technology costs and hasten the drive to a hydrogen economy. Both countries will exchange experts and share information on policies, technology programs, fuel cells, hydrogen
production and storage, and hydrogen transport technologies.
